Are you tired of visiting your blog and seeing the simple Blogger logo in the tab? All the other blogs seem to have such cool images there, but how? Those images is called 'favicons', and today I will be showing you how you can personalize yours. Above, you can see a few favicon examples. As you may or may not have noticed, our blog also has a personalized favicon image.
Making one is simple. You can use a program as basic as MS Paint, which is actually what I used to make this blog's favicon image.
Your favicon image needs to be 16x16 pixels.
You can design the favicon to your liking. Here's an example I made in a few seconds. (It's this big because I zoomed in.)
Once you like the favicon you've created, save it as 'something.ico'. You can of course change 'something' but the letters at the end cannot be 'jpg' or 'png' or anything, they need to be 'ico'.
Once you've saved your favicon properly, go to your Blogger dashboard and go to Layout. Find where it says 'Favicon' and click 'edit'.
You will be taken to this screen, where you can select your new Favicon image. Once you've picked it, click save.Your favicon image will not immediately show up when you visit your blog. You need to wait for up to a day for it to show up. If you don't want to wait, you can clear your cache and cookies and visit your blog. The favicon should then show up immediately.
I hope this helps you. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to leave a comment! I'll help you to the best of my ability. :)
